RATIONAL
THOUGHT NUMBER
Often ignored by numerologists,
I consider this an important aspect of the chart.
Your Rational Thought number reveals what can probably best
be described as your way of thinking.
Are you a practical, methodical
thinker, or a dreamer? Do you frequently allow your imagination
to color your perception? Are you unconventional and original
in the face of a practical problem, or do you stick to proven
methods?
This is the kind of information
that is available from your Rational Thought number.
How to find your Rational Thought
number.
Your Rational Thought number is
found by adding the sum of the value of all the letters in
your first name to your day of birth. For example, let's assume
that Thomas was born the twenty-fifth day of the month.

He was born the 25th. Thomas Rational
Thought number is 22 + 25 = 47, which reduces to 11.
PLANES
OF EXPRESSION
Each of us experiences life on
four different levels: with our physical body; our mental
faculty; our emotional make-up; and our intuition. Each of
these areas has a specific means of perceiving information.
The physical body is capable of touch, taste, pleasure, and
pain. It provides us with a sense of the physical world. The
mental body, like the emotional and intuitive natures, perceives
the invisible worlds. Our minds deal with the world of thought.
The heart, of course, is preoccupied
exclusively with the world of emotion. Our feelings teach
us many things about ourselves and about others. Finally,
we have the capacity for direct contact with the higher realms
by way of intuition. Intuitive insight comes in a flash. It
is not rational -- that is the world of the Mental Plane --
but comes as if it were placed at the doorstep our minds.
Intuition, therefore, bypasses all efforts save that of perception.
These four faculties exist in all
of us. But each of us depends more on one or two of them for
the bulk of our knowledge. Some of us are possessed by our
senses, while others live almost exclusively in their hearts,
or in their minds. Numerology indicates how we as individuals
function on each plane.
The letters of the alphabet are
divided into four categories: Physical, Mental, Emotional,
and Intuitive.
The proportion of each category in your name
gives a good indication of which Planes of Expression
are strongest in you, and which ones are weaker.
The sum (reduced to a single digit or Master number) of
the numbers found on each plane reveals how
you deal with your experiences on that plane. These Planes
of Expression can greatly help you to understand your talents
and abilities.
In addition, the letters of the
alphabet are also considered to be either creative, vacillating
(wavering), or grounded (practical).
NOTE: Some numerologists
base their calculations of the Planes of Expression on the
number values of the letters. We believe this is incorrect.
Letters have their own archetypal personalities and, when
calculating the Planes of Expression, should be considered
on their own merit. For example, the E, the N, and the W all
have the value of 5. However, the letters E and W are both
considered physical letters. While the N is seen as a mental
letter.
The chart below shows the status
of he letters in the alphabet according to these categories:
| |
Creative |
Vacillating |
Grounded |
| Physical |
E |

D M |
| Mental |
A |
H J N P |
G L |
| Emotional |
I O R Z |
B S T X |

| Intuitive |
K |
F Q U Y |
C V |
Food for thought:
Notice that not a single letter in the alphabet is both grounded
and emotional.
All vowels are creative with the exception of the U, which
is vacillating.
The Planes of Expression chart
is one of the more complex systems in numerology; however,
a good understanding of the Planes of Expression rewards you
with considerable insight.

THE SUBCONSCIOUS
SELF
The Subconscious Self reflects
the confidence you have in your personal power and competence,
as well as in your ability to deal with sudden events and
situations. It shows your capacity to correctly assess a situation
and to respond appropriately.
The Subconscious Self is derived
from your Karmic Lesson chart, in which it is possible to
have all nine numbers represented in your name, or fewer than
nine; in fact as few as three or as many as eight. For example,
you may be missing a 6 or a 7. This means that when you encounter
a situation that requires the characteristics of a 6 or a
7, there will be some feeling of inadequacy, or uncertainty
as to how to properly deal with the demands of the situation.
On the other hand, you still have
the other seven or eight numbers represented in you name,
which means your ability to deal with situations that require
any of those numbers is well-developed. You posses a certain
confidence or assurance that makes you feel familiar with
the situation, and able to deal with effectively. Hence, a
person with eight numbers represented in the name will tend
to be more confident in most situations than a person with
only five numbers.
In general, someone with eight
numbers in his name is quite capable of dealing with most
situations.
Paradoxically, a person with all
nine numbers represented tends to be aloof or overly complacent
when dealing with sudden events.
How to Find Your Subconscious Self
number.
To find your Subconscious Self
number, simply count the amount of numbers represented in
your name, as revealed in the Karmic Lesson chart; or subtract
the number of Karmic Lessons in your chart from 9 and arrive
at your Subconscious Self number.
THE CAPSTONE, AND THE CORNERSTONE
Special letters in your name.
Each letter in your name represents
your characteristics, but the location of the letters can
determine their impact.
For instance, the first letter
of your name (use your first name at birth) is called the
Cornerstone. It gives you an indication of your character,
particularly in the way you approach opportunities and obstacles.
The last letter of your first name
reveals your ability and attitude toward finishing projects
that you start. This letter is called your Capstone. Together,
your Cornerstone and Capstone can tell you much about your
capacity to start and finish a project successfully.
The first vowel of your first name
reveals something of your deeper self. As I explained earlier,
the Heart's Desire is a somewhat hidden, but strongly represented,
core number in your chart. It is a big part of yourself that
you do not reveal easily or indiscriminately, and it is usually
recognized only by your relatives and friends. The first vowel
of your name is the little window through which you allow
the uninitiated a glimpse at your deeper self.
It is interesting to note that
a person who uses a first name with a different first vowel
as the original birth name is particularly apprehensive of
revealing his or her deeper self.
